VAC:RAC F.A.Q

If you have a query about VAC:RAC product you may find the answers in this F.A.Q. If not send us an email and we will try to answer your questions.

Q. I'd like to pay by credit card, but the checkout only says Paypal?

You can pay with VISA or Mastercard on our website, but you need to first select Paypal in the payment method section. You don't need to make a paypal account, but we use Paypal to process all our online credit card orders for added security.

Q. I`d like a VAC:RAC, but how do I decide which one to buy?

A. The original MultiVac is still the favourite among fly fishermen in the UK where the product orginated, and will stick to any smooth surface. The CombiVac is our personal favourite for beach fishing as it is slightly more durable, and boasts an impressive 90kg's of adhesive force to any steel vehicle. The new Quad Rack has same suction technology as the MultiVac, but with the added security of two bases; it is also taller than the other racks, allowing for greater clearance.

Q. How do I attach my VAC:RAC?

A. Very quickly. The instruction are on the box. Always attach VAC:RAC's to a dry, clean surface to ensure they hold effectively.

Q. How do I care for my VAC:RAC's?

A. Looking after your VAC:RAC's the key to trouble free operation. Keep your VAC:RAC's clean between uses. For the CombiVac join the bases together, for the MultiVac model store the bases in their original box with protective covers attached.

Q. Can I use my VAC:RAC for long journeys?

A. Not recommended. VAC:RAC's are designed for short haul use only (home to the beach etc...) and although VAC:RAC's are tested to highway speeds, reels may be damaged by insects, debris etc on long journeys. Make sure all rigging is securely attached to your rod and reel. Thinner rods may flex when travelling over bumps and rough surfaces. This has the potential to cause poorly secured rigging to come loose.

Make sure your rods do not protrude over the front of your vehicle as this may be illegal in some states and make sure you mount your VAC:RAC and rods in a position that leaves you clear visibility when driving.

Q. How do I mount multiple rods?

A. If you mount multiple rods we recommend that you alternate reels between facing upwards and downwards. VAC:RAC's shock cords and mounts are so tough that quite large reels can be mounted facing upwards and will not move even when travelling over rough country . However we recommend that heavier reels face downwards and lighter reels face upwards. Make sure there is good clearance between reel/handles and your bonnet so that they do not come into contact causing damage to both. You may need to purchase an extension pillar for larger reels depending on the profile of you bonnet and roof line.

Q. Can I leave my VAC:RAC's attached to my vehicle long term?

A. We don't recommend that in case they are stolen. Although VAC:RAC's are built using quality UV resistant plastics and stainless steel they will deteriorate quicker if they are constantly exposed to extreme sun and temperatures. The beauty of this product is that you can quickly remove them and store in a safe place when not in use.
